Jörg Kuhbier, Senator a.D.
  • Born 1940 in Dessau.
  • Studies at the Universities of Hamburg and Munich from 1962 to 1966.
  • 1969 second state exam (Assessor) in Hamburg.
  • From 1969 civil servant with the Department of Economics of the State of Hamburg.
  • From 1981 until 1983 Director (Senatsdirektor) in the Department of Environment of the State of Hamburg.
  • From 1983 until 1991 Minister (Senator) for Environment of the State of Hamburg, as such, representative of the State of Hamburg in the second chamber of the federal legislative branch (Bundesrat).
  • During this period, chairman of the supervisory boards of Hamburgische Elektricitätswerke AG, Hamburger Wasserwerke GmbH and Hamburger Gaswerke GmbH, which in that time period were being privatised, and of the waste and waste water management authorities of the State of Hamburg.
  • 1991 admittance to the bar as attorney (Rechtsanwalt) in Hamburg, lecturing at universities, associations and other institutions.
  • 1993 establishment of the law firm Kuhbier + Fouquet, Hamburg and Brussels.
