| The
law firm Kuhbier.Rechtsanwälte was founded in 2000 as an association of
the law firms Jochum, Kuhbier + Fouquet and Baars.
The law firm operates through its offices in Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main (both established in 1991) and Brussels (established in 1993) in the Federal Republic of Germany, within the European Union and in the East and the South-East European countries. Our lawyers are actively engaged within two international networks: Interjures©, an international joint of lawyers, revenue consultants and chartered accountants who offer cross border solutions for their clients as in-house services, with partners in Greece, Germany, Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro), Macedonia (FYROM), Romania, Hungary and Poland, flanked by an office in Brussels. Associated European Energy Consultants (AEEC), a European Economic Interest Group (EEIG) of leading and highly specialised firms in the fields of energy and multi utility law with partners in Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Birmingham, Brussels, Frankfurt am Main, Goes (Netherlands), Hamburg, Milan, Munich, Rome, Rotterdam and Vienna. With this comprehensive network Kuhbier is able to solve economical and administrative problems and to implement projects, which are related to different European regions and fields of legal assistance. Kuhbier focuses on consulting private and public organisations, with
special regard to issues in the area of multi utility (energy, telecommunication,
waste and water), privatisation and start-ups.

The lawyers
are also active in the fields of public administration, European law,
especially subsidies; industrial relations, competetion and labour law.
The main emphasis of Kuhbier is upon the legal assistance to small and medium size companies, who want to succeed with innovative products and services on the German and the European market and do plan to go public. Besides this Kuhbier offers consultancy to the governments of East European countries concerning the construction of efficient and sustainable public infrastructures and suprastructures, which shall allow these countries to participate both economically and politically in the European process. The lawyers are able to offer broad services to companies, who want to establish branches in East and South-East European countries. To increase the potential of Kuhbier's international structure, the opening of further offices, both in cooperation with Interjures© and AEEC as well as by Kuhbier alone, is planned. The lawyers of the law firm have successfully implemented a number of international projects, sometimes in cooperation or in contract with the Commission of the European Communities. They have in-depth professional experience through holding management positions in government as well as in industry, and have special know-how concerning industrial relations, competition, energy, labour and European law as well as concerning public law, especially environmental law.
